Key Features:

The AmmoDyn 12 Gauge 9-Pellet 2.75" 00-Buckshot High-Brass Ammunition — here's a breakdown of its key features:

Pellet Count & Size	9 pellets of 00 Buck The standard 2.75" defensive load — each .33" pellet carries roughly the mass of a .32 caliber bullet
Muzzle Velocity	1,378 fps Above the 1,325 fps standard most domestic 00 buck is loaded to — more than enough to cycle any gas gun
Hardened Shot	Deformation-resistant lead Harder pellets stay round under setback, and round pellets fly straighter — this is what tightens a pattern
Gualandi Bior Wad	Italian hinged cushioning wad Collapses under ignition to absorb the initial shock load on the pellet column
Hull Construction	High Brass Head Taller metal head resists rim deformation and extraction failures under hard cycling
Rounds Per Box	10 Standard buckshot box count, available in case quantity

Applications & Use Cases:

Home Defense: 9 pellets, 246 ft-lbs each. Standard defensive load.
Patterning: Cheap enough to actually run 25–50 rounds through your gun.
Hogs Inside 30 Yards: Effective in thick cover.
Predator Control: Coyote-appropriate at short range.
Full-Recoil Training: Real cycling and recoil. What birdshot can't teach.

Pros and Cons:

Pros

✔ Hot 1,378 fps: Above the domestic standard. 246 ft-lbs per pellet.
✔ Hardened Shot + Cushioning Wad: Both pattern-preserving features in one shell.
✔ High Brass Head: Reliable extraction in hard-worked pump guns.
✔ Universal Fit: 2.75" runs in every modern 12 gauge.
✔ Case-Quantity Priced: Buy for the case, train with it.

Cons

✘ Heavy Recoil: Not reduced-recoil. Velocity costs.
✘ Not Flight-Control: Not a shot-cup-buffered premium load. Pattern before you carry.
✘ Overpenetration Risk: Every pellet retains real energy. Know your backstop.
✘ 30–40 Yard Envelope: Past that use a slug.

About AmmoDyn & ZSR:

AmmoDyn, Corp. is a licensed federal firearms licensee and ammunition wholesaler headquartered in Signal Hill, California, specializing in NATO-standard munitions for military, law enforcement, and commercial markets. AmmoDyn product is manufactured by ZSR Patlayıcı Sanayi A.Ş. of Balıkesir, Turkey. ZSR's core business is defense-sector metallic ammunition — 9x19mm through 12.7x99mm, including M193, M855, M80 Ball, tracer, and armor-piercing loadings built to NATO reference documents — and that same manufacturing discipline carries over into their sporting shotshell lines, which have reached the U.S. market under several labels over the years. For a buyer, the appeal is straightforward: a defense contractor's quality control at import pricing rather than domestic premium pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: High brass — meaningful?

A: Yes. Taller metal head = better rim support, less deformation, more reliable extraction under hard cycling. Modern plastic hulls carry pressure themselves but the head still matters mechanically.

Q: Gualandi Bior wad?

A: Italian hinged plastic wad. Partially collapses under ignition, cushions the pellet column, keeps pellets round. Round pellets fly straight. Cushioning wad + hardened shot = tight patterns.

Q: Effective range?

A: ~1 inch spread per yard from cylinder. Most 12 gauges hold 9 pellets on a torso at 15–25 yards. Pattern at 7, 10, 15, 25 to know your gun.

Q: Runs a semi-auto?

A: Yes. 1,378 fps is well above the cycling threshold for gas and inertia systems. Reduced-recoil buckshot is where semis choke, not full-power. Still test 25 rounds through yours first.

Q: Legal for deer?

A: Varies by state. Legal in many Southeast and shotgun-only zones with restrictions on pellet count and diameter. Check regs. Keep shots under 40 yards.

Q: 9 vs 8 pellet vs #1 buck?

A: 9-pellet 00 = standard. 8-pellet often = tighter buffered pattern. #1 buck = more count, less diameter. Patterning your gun matters more than pellet-size choice.
